The Bhimbhetka is a place in Madhya Pradesh where primitive paintings are discovered in numerous caves. The first secret to glazing is to use tremendously thin paint. The second secret to glazing is staying power, don't go too fast. (How simple is that?!)
Build your colors and tones gradually. Leave the painting to dry between each fur or layer of paint (glaze). This way, if you make an mistake you can correct it easily by wiping the new paint off. Or, if you put down a color and find it’s too strapping, wipe off any surplus. If you want to even out your colors, I find the best fixation to use is a mop brush.
Glazing with acrylic is no dissimilar than with oil. You can use glazes with any medium as long as you allow each coat dry totally before applying the next.

Before Thanksgiving, I took a break from, what I call, painting for idea - enjoying the independence on playing with my paints. Landscapes are a theme matter that I can experiment with color, work out my low assurance with greens and even play with different tools - all reasons why I love it.Turns out these small paintings made for a high-quality purpose - you see, every holiday season in the past umpteen years, I've dressed up my front window at my frame shop with overgenerous displays filled with framed prints and poster, lots of flash lights and lots of props. But being on a budget this year, a great solution was to frame my own work and make a more calm and cozy display - a reminder of the easy things in life that surround us.

I was in the mood to work with a lot of different colors on my palette, so I did a fall scene with all kinds of different particulars. I'm happy with how this one bowed out. Painting falls scenes is my favorite because you can actually get creative.This was put into practice painting. I was trying to work on painting scrub and fur trees. I also wanted to use a lot of color on this one to give it more feature. I'm happy with how it twisted out, but it's a little bit too neat for a scenery scene.

She instantly knew the artist’s life was the life for her. She went to the Slade in London when she was 17, and contemplated creation a career out of stage design. Instead, when she finally had to return home to Bristol (weeping on the train), she started to teach art.She became branded for her murals, but it was the privacy of painting only at the easel that really appealed, and this has been her way of working ever since. Fengmian, born in China in 1900, sold his initial painting at age nine. This painting came from a Pennsylvania consignor and went to a purchaser in Singapore.Another Twentieth Century artwork was a roll painting on paper by Hsu Pei-hung of two horses watering at a stream that sold for $13,800.

Use a clean paintbrush for each color or clean the brush carefully with turpentine substitute or white spirit and drying it with kitchen paper before dipping into a different color.

Farah Ahmed, an ex-army wife is a homemaker and a house entrepreneur. One of my long-ago times as a child was looking at my parent's art books. I didn't like leaving to the museum. That meant short-lived up an afternoon of play and stuffing for me into clothing that made me feel claustrophobic. It meant being eyed doubtfully by curators who I now understand were guarding treasures for the public good. But back then I simply didn't like the feeling of not being trusted.When I got a little older, I in progress looking at bookstores as kinder, gentler museums. My all time favorites for cheap artistic thrills are museum catalogues. I go to Strand's bookstore, which has display catalogues of all kinds of artwork, from 19th century American painting to sculpture to European furnishings.
Even better is the letters of art post cards. They are a reasonably priced way to own something beautiful. Though it may be true that nothing can contrast to an original painting, I seldom have time for such delight.
What I liked about looking at an art book is that I didn't have to trade an afternoon of play for creative enjoyment. My parents told me that some day I would be grateful for all the trips to museums. The only error they made was calling it "culture". That held no petition for me at all. I liked it much better when they just said that someone tinted really great pictures. Even today, looking at a good painting is like consumption a good Pilsner with my eyes.

The C J Koh Online Gallery is album of oil paintings by Mr Koh Choon Joo a lawyer, Magistrate, self-taught artist and an avid art collector. In Paintings of natural world and rocks, I use the same technique of doing the under painting first, then applying color in a mottled way with a dry brush for the rock texture.The strokes in the upper left corner depicting the good tree branches are also done with a dry-brush. This is a detail technique, when you do not draw on much water on the brush, but apply the color with a brush that is not dripping wet.
You have quite a bit of manage with this method, but it should be used for textures and detail. You cannot paint a sky with a dry brush lacking it taking a week!

L.A.-based artist animator Lynne Naylor has a show of new attractive, eerie, pop surrealist paintings Modern Gallery in Palm Springs, CA. Along with her beautiful paintings; Naylor is known for her work on The Ren & Stimpy Show and The Powerpuff Girls. The mood, colors, and work of art of this series, titled Arlice's Odyssey, take my breath away. I was excited to learn that these paintings are the basis of a three-part illustrates storybook that will be published next year. The show opening is from 7 to 10pm and will feature the live psy-fi sound of Sir Cosmo Cosmopollus aka Naylor's multitalented husband, painter Chris Riccardi. I collect these stones from the rivers and waters place. Shaped and smoothed through the moving water, I paint and varnish each one and frame them in custom made Perspex boxes.Painting Stones are from China and are attractive examples of dendritic jasper.
