This painting is another in what might be careful my trademark in that it is a surrealistic statement of Christian symbolism. Toward me the white dove of the Holy Spirit and the crown of suffering along with the skyline of Jerusalem are noticeable. But did you know that while the Temple existed, as a marriage rite the groom would wear a crown of roses which speaks of a king approaching for his bride? One of my long-ago times as a child was looking at my parent's art books. I didn't like leaving to the museum. That meant short-lived up an afternoon of play and stuffing for me into clothing that made me feel claustrophobic. It meant being eyed doubtfully by curators who I now understand were guarding treasures for the public good. But back then I simply didn't like the feeling of not being trusted.When I got a little older, I in progress looking at bookstores as kinder, gentler museums. My all time favorites for cheap artistic thrills are museum catalogues. I go to Strand's bookstore, which has display catalogues of all kinds of artwork, from 19th century American painting to sculpture to European furnishings.
Even better is the letters of art post cards. They are a reasonably priced way to own something beautiful. Though it may be true that nothing can contrast to an original painting, I seldom have time for such delight.
What I liked about looking at an art book is that I didn't have to trade an afternoon of play for creative enjoyment. My parents told me that some day I would be grateful for all the trips to museums. The only error they made was calling it "culture". That held no petition for me at all. I liked it much better when they just said that someone tinted really great pictures. Even today, looking at a good painting is like consumption a good Pilsner with my eyes.

An interesting curiosity found the painting with the intention of was created with different types of fluorescent bacteria. Nathan Shaner’s rendition of a San Diego beach scene was made using a kind of living paint collected of eight color palette of bacterial colonies expressing fluorescent proteins derived from GFP and the red-fluorescent coral protein dsRed. The C J Koh Online Gallery is album of oil paintings by Mr Koh Choon Joo a lawyer, Magistrate, self-taught artist and an avid art collector. In Paintings of natural world and rocks, I use the same technique of doing the under painting first, then applying color in a mottled way with a dry brush for the rock texture.The strokes in the upper left corner depicting the good tree branches are also done with a dry-brush. This is a detail technique, when you do not draw on much water on the brush, but apply the color with a brush that is not dripping wet.
You have quite a bit of manage with this method, but it should be used for textures and detail. You cannot paint a sky with a dry brush lacking it taking a week!

L.A.-based artist animator Lynne Naylor has a show of new attractive, eerie, pop surrealist paintings Modern Gallery in Palm Springs, CA. Along with her beautiful paintings; Naylor is known for her work on The Ren & Stimpy Show and The Powerpuff Girls. Some old writings about this breed explain them as having black tipped horns in this very style, yet we don't see this trait consistently in modern animals posture the label Ancient White Park.Within the White Park Cattle Society of the UK's own dogma and history of the breed they involuntarily provide historical evidence via this painting of the absolute close kinship of the polled and horned varieties of the ancient White Park type. Merely remove the horns and you have a tremendous example of what all breeders of polled British White cattle strive to have grazing in their pastures today.

It is the folk art of decorative painting on tin and wooden utensils, objects and furniture.
It came into practice in New England(18th century) and was also extensively carried on among German immigrants in Pennsylvania. A separate, related tradition occurs among Scandinavian countries and immigrants. German tole painting may concentrate more on metal and tin objects, while Scandinavian may concentrate more on wooden objects and furniture. Two traditions vary slightly in patterns as well.
Modern tole painting typically uses long-lasting,inexpensive and sturdy acrylic paints. Good quality wooden work is sealed, primed and sanded before the decorative paint is applied.
As a craft, tole painting has an advantage as a bad painting can be sanded off and repainted.

A demonstration of the work of a man who devoted his life to painting the Brecon Beacons is being held in Brecon.Former Brecon in High School teacher, Peter Culpitt Evans, died earlier this year.
But now his work is on demonstrate at Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery in the town.

Women at one time stood on the outer edge of the dancers; some wrongly suppose that the women weren't "allowed" to dance when in actuality they really made the circle or arena with their occurrence. If you're painting on a white ground, lay out your paints on top of a white palette, and if you're working on a color ground, lay your paints out made of wood palette. This way your colors look similar on your palette to what they'll show on your canvas.

This is a method called painting with light where you leave the shutter open (bulb mode) on you camera and just use a glow to set where you want to expose, the light in this example was just a small pen light but you can do the similar sort of thing in fields at night with torches to enlighten say, rocks or trees. In this picture of my epiphone and amplifier I just opened the shutter and traced encircling the edges of each element, i.e. body, strings, amp etc. This shaped multiple exposures which I then joint in Photoshop (I believe I set the blend mode to monitor to keep only the lightest parts). A stand is essential as neither the camera nor the theme can move during any of the exposures and obviously the less ambient light entering the room the better.Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Thanks for the suggestions (and encouragement) regarding how to do my doll's face. I finished up painting a very simple smiling face, and it was so much easier than I estimated. Easier than embroidery for me, because I contain lots more understanding about painting than I do embroidering. I also added few pigtails, a skirt, some band trim and hair bows. And so in this condition I have utilized in my 'beauty and the beast' effort that you see below. I purposely evoked the summer Mediterranean feel so as to counterpoint the horrible 'beast'. This of course would prevent otherwise good sales, but then again - is fame and fortune worth all that? In the marketplace this is money each way painting. There might be someone our there who may like both elements.

Some Monkeys too part in the nature of mechanism. I am not a trained painter by any means; in information until freshly I tried to paint anything moreover abstract designs or simple stuff like cup cakes. But now I've tried to do a commission of two cute little girls and let me tell you faces are the hardest object to paint.
To be clever to show depth and skin tones and hair colors as sensible is so hard. Perhaps if I had gone to art educate and spent many hours of proper training doing nothing but this I wouldn't feel so panicky by this but anyway I am receiving off the track...
I am leaving to post the original picture that I finished up painting from, it's unusual from the one I thought I would use to start with. Then I will post the trail up paintings and hopeful the finishing painting when I am totally done.

Village Paintings encompass within themselves not just colors and subjects, but also an overpowering sense of homesickness, longing for a way of life, which is or the majority cases has already rapid disappearing. Colorful images of costumed men and women planting, hoeing, harvesting, watering their crops or possibly heading to the market, projects a rather idyllic delusion of a village life, and yet they direct to make us yearn for something which is/in all probability never there.

But let's bounce the in-depth analysis of perspective and the use of the picture plane, to rather focus on my key point: using perspective to create an illusion of depth in a painting is but one option available to you. You don't have to divide a painting into a foreground, middle ground, and background if you don't want to. You can adapt and change it as you like.
In these optical illusions, the brain interprets what the eye sees in a way that differs from measurable certainity.

It can be dangerous knowing what to say when a friend asks you what you think about their latest painting or to give a critique. But there are some things you should never say if you value your friendship.
- What is it?
- Do you paint like this because you don't know how to paint real things?
- Why don’t you use more paint? Why did you use so much [insert color]?
- It looks so real, did you trace it?
- Why didn’t you just take a photo?
- The colors will match the curtains in my living room nicely. (The context of your conversation is art, not home decorating.)
- Show it to me again when it's finished. What are you still planning to do with it?
Saying something pleasant about a painting rather than finding fault or giving 'helpful' suggestions doesn't mean you haven't looked properly or that you're ignorant about art nor unsophisticated. Ill-considered comments can be hurtful in ways you never intended. The person showing you their paintings is showing you something that's important to them, that they've spent time creating. Be happy for them that they're enjoying what they're doing, even if you don't like the result.
